I share your pain. Same thing happened then I bought my D last summer. The dealer installed the Mopar harness that is a real kludge compared to the factory installation. Instead of having the lighting relays up in the power distribution assembly, they are wrapped up in the additional harness and as such are not servicable. And then, my Mopar hitch wasn't installed right either.
Don't know about the electric brakes so I can't help you there. Good Luck.
