gosh...this engine is getting all it can use and then some from the stock inlet. The piston is not working at all when it sucks in the air. It is only on its way down from the combustion of another.

The idea of the free flow exhaust isn't as important as the timed exit and division of spent fuel exiting the combustion chamber. Resistance is overcome by the efficient organization of the exit from the cylinder. "Tuned" headers do this.

The more hot "spent" gasses emptied out of the cylinder...then the more fresh cool mixure introduced in there for the power. I mess with "split duration" cams to trick an engine.

I am going to build cowl induction for my D. I had a Mercury I used to show that I had built the cowl induction for. It "tricked" every judge at every show. They always believed it was factory.
