Tornado:
the air moving and swirling etc. would be "neat" if it were running down a venturi sucking fuel into its stream.
It needs to be understood that these days the fuel is injected into the cylinder while air is being compressed by the cylinder's piston. The fuel is timed in front of the spark.
Air which is cooler would surround more fuel atoms when combustion occurred. If a larger volume of air were to cram itself into the cylinder before the intake valve closed, it would also be beneficial.
another issue:
As I see it...Tony's intake gives your engine a nice "sound" BUT the down stroke of the piston (one of eight giant sucking sounds)is the only way of getting air through the "K & N" filter. The pistons suck it through the filter...the filter doesn't slam it down into the cylinder.
Consider the butterfly's restrictive nature. There is a reason for that. If you took the top of the engine off when you cracked the throttle, (and let all the air in the world "fall" into it) there would be less low end power.
If Tony's kit would actually "Push" cool air, I would have one. (remember the pistons are sucking it trough the filter.) From my understanding of the kits present construction it is drawing WARMER air than the factory air box. This whole gettup reminds me of the days of turning the air cleaner lid upside down on the early '70s Chevrolets. The sound of it made it feel faster.
enough for now...
