My dealer has forgotten to lube it during an oil change and who knows what else.
They typically have a 'quick oil change station' that is not manned by their experienced mechanics (I would question if they were even trained in more than 'unscrew plug, remove filter, pour in oil, oops, replace plug and filter, then pour in oil).
: Unless you've been driving in a particularly dusty area, or through a lot of salt-laden puddles, you're probably not in REALLY terrible shape..
: If you remove the plenum over the throttle body and look inside, you can get some idea of whether any significant amount of yuck got in.. (thre should be absolutely no visible dirt or corrosion)
: Please, don't ever go to Jiffy Lube (or Qlube, or whatever your local ripoff is) again. I once fell into that trap with an earlier vehicle ("I don't feel like crawling under the car at 10F; I'll just go let them do it.."). after two trips, they stripped the drainplug hole.
: Find a good local mechanic, or even have the dealer do it. Someone who doesn't need on/off arrows on his/her wrenches.
