Chryco engines will tick sometimes when cold.....

cuz they use hydraulic lifters. until the oil heats up you may get a tick. Sometimes it won't go away. Generally, just leave it alone. Unless of course it gets bad (only you can decide what requires service). but it is a characteristic of the 318 and 360 to tick when cold. Used to be a blurb about it in the owners manual.

Some of the new fangled engines tick all the time, to me, these days. bearings in the alternator, serpentine belts, something....but I find alot of engines have a tick (under the hood). Outside the hood it could be the above.
