Most body guys will tell you to apply with the buffer, remove by hand. Removing with the buffer requires ALOT of pads because the build up of old wax occurs fast and you end up rubbing this old dried stuff on your paint....YUK.

Apply with the buffer, work it in, get those oils and waxes pushed well into your paint surface.

Then wipe off with 100% cotton towels.

I "burned" one of my door moldings once. It was late and I was "quickly" applying some wax. I pushed a little too hard down onto the molding so that the backing of the pad and rubber disk hit the molding and "burned" the paint a little. Make sure your orbital has a random pattern and don't run it too fast until you get the hang of it. I prefer foam pads, not terry. Try hold too much grit and mats down too easy....I like to lean into it.
