If you imagine a Merry-go round.
Torque is how hard you can push to get it going.
HP is how fast you can spin it.
Initially you can push hard, but the speed is still relatively slow, as you accelerate it, you can no longer push as hard because of the speed.
HP continues to increase as long as RPM's increase.
