I have a dog and a 2 yearold, and considering how offten I'm at the lake andt getting in and out of my D wet, the leather is the way to go. I've sat in mine with a screwdriver in pocket2 or 3 times and never ripped it (although I thought I did) . With cloth absorbing the water out of a swimsuit on a hot day, it starts to smell musty, trust me my suburban has cloth. I love my leather.
