October 2005
About Don and his 'D' I'm Don Chesebro Jr. and am proud and honored to be chosen as DOTM for October. I work for the City of Utica Parks Department here in Utica, NY doing everything you can imagine. I knew from jump I wanted a D. I wanted a vehicle that was different, not so square and shoe-boxy like a Blazer or Explorer, and the D had the rounded off lines I was looking for. It was just outright stylish. I waited a few years before I purchased one to make sure DC had most of the major bugs worked out. I'm active in the DOC, my second family, and IASCA(.com) which is a worldwide auto sound competition organization. In my second year of competing, I managed to become the World Champion in my class with a score of 149.6 decibels; and that was with only 3 of 4 of my speakers working! I did have a high score of 150.4 decibels this year. I worked my butt off to move up from 6th place in the finals in '04 to World Champ in '05. This year my father and myself logged over 16,000 miles traveling to shows all up and down the east coast and then to the finals in Kansas City MO. This was not only a victory for me, but for all D owners as a few years ago two major mobile audio publications listed the D as one of their top 5 worst vehicles to install mobile audio in acoustics-wise. They listed it as too hard to get sound out of. I hope the grunts that did the testing check this site!! I found this site by accident and boy am I glad I did! I've gotten a lot of helpful advice and tips and everyone is so quick to lend a helping hand or advice. I'm the same way, so this is the place for me! I attended my first function with the club this year at the All Chrysler Nationals. We loved every minute of it and we will be back!! I'd like to thank everyone involved in choosing me DOTM for October, the DOC members for always being there to help me and to answer questions, and to my dad, Don Sr., who's stood behind me and been my co-pilot the whole time! Some of my mods so far include: diamond clear headlights, diamond clear turn signals, all clear tail lights, K&N cold air intake, polished aluminum Mopar Performance valve covers, polished master cylinder cap, billet aluminum dipstick handles, custom airbrushed Marvin the Martian fuse cover, stainless steel door handle covers, 20" Centerline wheels, a massive audio/video system consisting of four 15" Memphis subwoofers with four Memphis 400w amplifiers, another Memphis amp to run all the door and kick panel speakers, two headrest monitors, one in-dash monitor with DVD player, a rearview mirror monitor — which pulls double duty as a viewer for the back-up camera and a Playstation 2. Again, thank you all for choosing me to be among the ranks of the fine people who have been and will be DOTM winners!! See everyone soon!
