August 2005
About Greg and his 'D' Aloha from the far reaches of the Pacific! I'm Greg Grajew and honored to have been voted the August 2005 DOTM. I've been a member of the DOC since as far back as I got my first new car &mdash the 1971 Ferrari Daytona convertible wasn't available in my color so I chose a 99 D instead; Ferrari Red of course. Over the years, and thanks to members of the DOC who've helped me out with various problems, I've modified my D — initially in hopes of moving to Fairbanks, AK to mush my dogs (still pending) but also to reverse engineer things I didn't like etc. Here's a brief summary and thank you all for your help throughout the years, I've met some great folks and the advice has always been helpful. 1999 D SLT+, 5.9 L FT 4x4, 31x10.5x15 wheels, 32,500 mi: The most delicate modification was of course cutting my hood to install a functional Shaker Scoop. Ever since the 'Cuda days I've wanted one and e-Bay gave me the chance to keep my OEM steel hood (not shipping a new hood to Hawaii — priceless) and just buy the scoop! Installing this mod gave a whole new meaning to "measure twice, cut once" as, once you drill that first starter hole in the hood, you're committed! It took 3 of us nearly 9 man-hours, most of those measuring and re-measuring, as there's no real way of determining the center of the windshield from any body or dash marks. Thankfully, 3 hrs later with the help of some air-snips, it was done and the "look" says it all! The scoop came with an oiled K&N filter. My other mods include: Brush Guard, Bra, 4 Off-Road High Intensity Lights (including 2 Cibie 200 Watt), Tubes, Magnecor 8.5mm Wires, NGK Plugs, Accel Cap, Brembo Crossdrilled Front Rotors, TCI Tranny Pan, Moog Ball Joints, Flowmaster 50 Duals, Crossfire 200 Watt Amp with Alpine Speakers, Tranny & Oil Temp Apod Gauges, Leather Steering Wrap, Red LED Mirror Turn Signals, Altezza Euro Tail Lights, Rear Air Deflector and waiting on the Long Headers which I hope to add by Christmas — or as soon as they start building them. Lastly am M1 Manifold will round out the basic mods. This website is in no way affiliated with Dodge or Chrysler LLC.
