About Glenn and his 'D'

My name is Glenn Roberson and I'm an Engineer/Paramedic for Springfield Fire & Life Safety. I get to live the dream of most young kids, that of driving a fire truck complete with blazing siren, flashing lights, and a mean air horn. I've been at my current job for nearly 10 yrs, first as a firefighter and then as an engineer. Before that, I was a volunteer firefighter for about 6 yrs.

I'm married to a beautiful wife, Margaret, and we have two lovely young girls ages 4 and 3 ½. Margaret works as an underwriter for a local health insurance company, as well as taking one class per term at the University of Oregon to finish her degree in Economics. She also stays busy as a Pampered Chef consultant and keeps fit through running and aerobics. She has compiled a webpage for our family which can be viewed here. Together, we enjoy taking care of our girls and going to Oregon Duck football and basketball games. GO DUCKS!

I purchased "Rare" in November of 2001. She's named Rare because she's a 2001 in Atlantic Blue, which is a 2002 color. I had been driving a Grand Caravan for two years and was ready to get back into something that looked good and was fun to drive. On a whim I went to the local Dodge dealer and saw a beautiful blue 'D', fully loaded, with $6500 off sticker to boot. One test drive and she was sold.

I had no idea what kind of mods could be made to the 'D' and was looking for a simple bug guard when I came across the DOC website. Next thing I knew I was mailing off a check to join the club and calling Fastman for a TB ASAP. Since then, I have met some great people at installation parties and at a great PNWDOC Mt. St. Helens Rendevous. The club has been a great source of info for me and I really enjoy passing on the knowledge I have gained both from the DOC and from tearing into my own 'D' to perform mods and upgrades. I know someday the mods will reach an end, but I still have a list I'm working on.

As some can attest, I love wrenching on the 'D' and won't hesitate to install parts for anybody who wants to improve their 'D'. All they have to do is ask and away we go. I'm even trying to convince the local sheriff to install a TB and intake on his 5.9 'D'. I think I already have him sold on some Rancho 5000's.

Here is a list of current and possible future mods for Rare:
