October 2001
About John and his 'D' I grew up in Hawthorne, NJ and moved to Union, NJ in June of 2001, which is also when I married my wife. I've been employed by a legal publishing firm in NYC for the past six years and, over the last 20 years, spent my spare time as a semi-professional drummer. My wife enjoys driving the 'D' as much as I do, but prefers her Saab 9-3 SE Turbo. She understands my addiction, but thinks I'm nuts goins so crazy over a truck. I try to spoil her as much as I spoil my 'D'. I fell in love with the 'D' from it's inception, but decided to wait a few years so any bugs could be worked out. Now that I've got one, I'm a happy camper to say the least!!! Many people have ridden in my truck who at first really didn't think much of 'D's, but after being in mine, they shopped for one of their own. I always get compliments on how it looks and rides. The fact that it's bigger than an Explorer or Blazer, but smaller than a Tahoe or Expedition makes it a perfect size for both me and my wife to drive. I can fit ALL NINE CASES full of drum equipment in the back without folding down the second row seats! That's either called tons of space or strategic packing :). At first, I concentrated on cosmetic mods for my 'D', but in the last couple of weeks I've gone on a little shopping spree for the following goodies (not all of which have been installed yet):
