(aka Mojoman)

About Mark and his D

I was born in New Orleans in 1968 and have lived here most of my life, except for 1980-1986 when I resided in Simi Valley, CA. I spend my weekdays as a full-time project/mechanical engineer for a local consulting firm, but spend my evenings and weekends selling Tabasco products, either through my web site or at local craft shows and festivals. Whatever time I have left over is spent with my wife, Sissy, and my daughter, Morgan; developing web sites, going to computer training, and driving my D.

I started visiting the DOC web site about a year ago, but only occasionally. About 6 months ago, I started visiting the DOC site on a weekly basis and became a Gold Member. As soon as I got my Gold Membership package, it was like a spell came over me and I started modifying my D (see below), meeting with local DOC members, helping with some DOC group buys, and forming the Gulf Coast Chapter of the DOC with a little push from Ole and Paul. Now I visit the DOC site daily. My wife thinks there must be some subliminal message on the web site because she has never seen me this devoted to anything except her!!! Seriously, I think the DOC is a great club and am glad to be a part of it. We cannot make it this year, but hopefully the Gulf Coast DOC will have a few members going to the 2001 DRMR.

I leased my D on April 1, 2000 with the intention of keeping it after the 3 years are up. I have purchased many SUV's in the past 10 years, but this is the first time I bought a top-of-the-line, loaded model. My D is a 5.9L, SLT+ with PT 4WD, 3rd row seating, tow group, skid plates, and leather. I have no regrets about the choices I made. During the first year, I did not perform many modifications, but recently I have made several including: TSW Tracker 16x8 wheels, BFG All-Terrain KO 265/75R16 tires, rear shackle lift (1.25"), front lift (cranked up the torsion bars), billet aluminum grill (top and bottom), Westin Safari bar w/Hella off-road lights, clear front turn signals, Super White xenon headlight bulbs, MagnaFlow muffler, platinum spark plugs, "Durango" windshield decal, custom tail-light decals, "Dodge" third brake light cover, factory-matched front window tint, Sony radio, Sony TV-tuner, two 7" TVs/monitors, wireless headphones, Infinity Reference separates (front and rear), Clarion Stealth sub-woofer, and Bel radar detector. I also removed the factory running boards.

You can find additional info and pictures here.

Thanks for choosing me for DOTM!!!

Mark "Big J" Johnson
