The DOC’s founding members were Herman Ascher, Beth Kirby and Ashley Veselka in Texas, Arnold Nobles in Arkansas, John Gutknecht in Illinois, Jimmy Stuart in Maryland, John Souza in Rhode Island and Lane Nubia and Pete Cartier in New York State.

Our on-line presence, through the club's website and discussion forum, now enjoys a reputation for providing high quality service and information to club members.  Although it's constantly changing and evolving, this web presence wouldn't exist without the founding efforts of Wayne Steele in Wyoming (website hosting), Travis Jennings in Florida (forum hosting) and Anthony Owen in Hawaii (WebMaster and D-zine Editor) who initiated it all.

Since its establishment, the DOC has greatly benefited from the hundreds of hours of volunteer effort and suggestions received via the Internet from some very talented, dedicated and creative minds.  Many of these individuals have served, or are currently serving, as club Officers and Board of Directors members to carry out the duties required to keep the organization functioning smoothly.  The DOC wouldn't exist without the continuing contributions of such people.

As our membership continues to grow, and with the addition of numerous members from such countries as Canada, Mexico, Germany, the U.K. and Thailand, it's already become international in scope, many Local Chapters have been, or are being formed with "locally organized" 'D' events beginning to occur frequently.  We expect this trend to continue and expand and one stated goal of our Membership Chairman, Herman Ascher, is to have 2000 members by the end of year 2000, identified as 2KbyY2K.
